Ana Schurmann expands her vision with ‘Peacemakers’

Ana Schurmann’s latest release continues an unusual career that stretches well beyond music alone.

The Brazilian-born artist has unveiled “Peacemakers”, a self-produced composition that combines vocals and traditional instrumentation with the Neck Lyre, her own wearable musical design. The song focuses on peace and solidarity while supporting awareness around child welfare.

She has previously worked across modelling, fashion and research, appearing in more than 150 publications and collaborating with major international fashion houses. More recently, she has explored the relationship between sound and astrophysics.

In 2025, she developed a project that converted genuine gravitational-wave detections into musical material, later presenting the work at Brazil’s Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica with live musicians.

“Peacemakers” brings those different strands of her work into a more accessible song format. Rather than treating science, design and humanitarianism as separate interests, Ana Schurmann continues to use music as the point where they can meet.
