Out now, Cliffs of Donegal marks a powerful return for Portland-born, Irish-American singer-songwriter Brianna McGeehan. A tribute to her late aunt, the track is both an elegy and a conversation, written in response to her aunt’s poem Pictured Rocks.
Set against delicate, folk-rooted instrumentation and closing with a lone fiddle, the song captures the emotional push and pull of grief.“It’s a time capsule of grief,” McGeehan shares, “but also a celebration.”
Following acclaimed singles Mother Maiden and Home, Cliffs of Donegal continues McGeehan’s tradition of heartfelt, poetic storytelling.
