Making her debut appearance here but by no means her first inroads in the music industry, we're hyped to introduce you to Adria Kain, the Toronto-based R&B artist. Her discography and streaming numbers over the past five years have us wondering why more people don't know about Adria, and so we were very happy to come across sweet listen "Classic" in our inbox this week. It's a lowtempo, minimalist R&B track inspired by the strength and perseverance of black women, as Kain herself explains: "I wanted to create something not only for myself, but to help uplift and remind all black women that we are loved unconditionally regardless of experience and societal views, and to encourage the idea of continuing forward in all that we aim to do no matter what tries to interfere because we are classic examples of royalty and anything is a possibility." What's great about this artist is that she lives her truith as a queer, masculine-presenting black woman who is proud and happy with her identity and that's the most classically royal thing of all.
