In the late winter and spring of 2024, Elohim teased her fans with singles "Can't Remember Your Name," "Tiny Human," and "Didn't Sign Up For This." These tracks set the stage for her highly anticipated album "Power of Panic," a project she envisioned as a triumphant tale of harnessing anxiety and panic into something greater. The plan was grand—a headline tour culminating in a career-defining moment. But life had other plans.
As she prepared to bring this vision to life, Elohim faced a resurgence of her old demons: anxiety, dissociation, and panic disorder. To cope, she turned to Benzodiazepines, a decision that quickly spiraled into dependence. The tour was canceled, and Elohim found herself in the arduous process of weaning off the medication, with an almost completed album and a shattered dream. At her lowest, she questioned everything, even contemplating shelving the album.
During her recovery, Elohim discovered the dual nature of panic's power—both its destructive force and its potential for transformation. This period of intense struggle forced her to confront the raw, unfiltered truth of her message. "Power of Panic" no longer came from the lofty place she had imagined but from the gritty reality of her life.
Elohim's album is a testament to her resilience. It captures the essence of battling inner demons and finding strength in vulnerability. The tracks resonate with an authenticity that is both painful and beautiful. Her voice, raw and honest, guides listeners through the tumultuous journey of her mind.
"Can't Remember Your Name" sets the tone with haunting melodies and introspective lyrics, capturing the essence of dissociation. "Tiny Human" is a delicate exploration of fragility and strength, while "Didn't Sign Up For This" becomes an anthem for those grappling with unexpected challenges.
Elohim dreams of a parallel world where she has conquered these battles, performing for thousands. Though that dream is on hold, "Power of Panic" exists now, without the stage lights, and that has to be enough. The album stands as a powerful reminder of the beauty found in our most vulnerable moments.
In her own words, Elohim encapsulates the essence of her journey: "This album's true message is raw, brutally honest, and quite frankly not from the place I thought I would be, but from the place where I actually am." "Power of Panic" is a raw, brutally honest reflection of her reality—a complex, fractured, yet profoundly beautiful creation. And maybe, just maybe, that dream will spark back to life tomorrow.
