From the first strum of Gabe Parsons’ new single “Hurricane’s Back”, I was hooked. It’s one of those tracks that hits you like a gust of wind. It's unexpected, urgent, and totally exhilarating. There’s a raw, joyful rebellion running through this folk-rock gem, and it’s impossible not to get swept up in its energy. The bright piano, jangly acoustic guitars, subtle xylophone, and that full-band lift feel cinematic, like the soundtrack to your favorite coming-of-age road trip movie. The guitar work? Pure fire. And Gabe’s voice? Honest, worn-in, and full of heart. I love that this track sets the stage for a larger story by introducing characters who evolve across his upcoming debut album Long Road Traveler. You can hear echoes of Bruce Springsteen and Counting Crows in the storytelling, but Gabe brings his own restless yet tender spirit to it. “Hurricane’s Back” feels like driving with the windows down, chasing something you can’t quite name. It’s big-hearted, beautifully built, and promises great things to come.
