Jake Alder and Caswell team up on power anthem ‘Karma’

Jake Alder and Caswell’s newest collaboration, ‘Karma’ is an anthemic electro and synth based pop track, carrying an abundance of energy with Caswell’s slightly dark and entrancing vocals, topped with honest lyrics. Jake laces the track with infectious steel pan riffs with an infusion of brass, electric guitar and vintage synths that are wonderfully atmospheric.

Discussing the meaning behind the track, Caswell says “I really wanted to take the power back in a situation where we typically feel powerless. In this instance, having been cheated on”. She laughs, going on to say, “I call this my ‘Lemonading’ song! It’s very much a woman-scorned vibe, but the revenge element is left to the powers of the universe”.

The pair’s last collaboration ‘Going Under’ was championed by BBC Introducing, receiving Spotify playlist placements and premiering at Wonderland. It was also notably played live to a crowd of 40,000 on the final night of Ed Sheeran’s Divide world tour, where Caswell opened the show alongside Lewis Capaldi. They have also accumulated a range of successes; from syncs at ITV to plays on BBC Radio 1 and 1 Xtra, to charting co-writes and slots at Reading and Leeds Festivals. Growing in popularity, this is certainly a pairing to keep your eye on.
