Musroe turns guitar experiments into new single pair ‘Left2Rot/Now’

Two very different guitar experiments form the basis of Musroe’s latest release.

The Montréal artist has shared “Left2Rot/Now”, a connected pair of tracks arriving ahead of forthcoming EP EPHEMERA.

“Left2Rot” began as an older guitar demo before Musroe dismantled and reshaped the material during production. The finished version gradually increases in intensity, with guitars following the movement of increasingly urgent vocals.

By contrast, “Now” grew from a looper-pedal experiment. Musroe recorded four guitar lines and slowed them into a drifting, atmospheric arrangement designed to create a sense of pause.

The contrast between the two pieces is deliberate, with the release centred on the transition from feeling emotionally overwhelmed to regaining a sense of presence.

“Left2Rot/Now” continues Musroe’s self-produced approach and arrives alongside new visual material connected to the wider world of EPHEMERA.
