Following on from the release of 'Coup De Grace' earlier in the year, Ruben Dumars is back with an ecstatic glow as he unveils his latest anthem 'All I Wanted'. Looking to further cement himself as an emphatic underground talent, Dumars once again showcases his music versatility.
Launching across the soundwaves with a glowing prowesse, the track leans into a summery, indie-tinged soundscape. Lifting elements from contemporary pop and classic indie anthems, Dumars produces something that feels truly magical - akin to the likes of Wallows and The 1975.
Diving into the single, he explores the creative process, “This song was written with two things in mind: my desire to get high on drugs, and to tell a cryptic story of my long-since broken-up ex-girlfriend hooking up (allegedly) with a famous band frontman from Australia. And honestly, I didn't do much, if any of the instrumentation initially, I added and removed quite a bit after Clint Holgate (Co-Producer) and I recorded this and Andrew Tolman (Imagine Dragons) played drums on it. This was recorded a long time ago, I think back in 2018 or 2019, and I decided to release it now, because I was thinking when I leave this world, I want there to be a broad range of styles and genres in my catalogue.”
