The Jerichos deliver the summertime hit 'Even If You Are The Cactus'

Bringing back that nostalgic feel-good indie sound, The Jerichos make their return with ‘Even If You Are The Cactus’, pulling influence from Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco and The Beatles, combining the 60's psychedelic scene with 80's dance with a modern twist modern indie rock twist.

Formed in Oxford, England in early 2019, The Jerichos, are fronted by singer, songwriter & guitarist Julian Wagstaff along with Jack Hardy (drums) Jordan Maycock on guitar and backing vocals, George Lambourne on Synthand Micky (bass guitar). The band's name is a subtle twist on one of the most iconic music venues in the area, The Jericho Tavern, that over the years has played host to bands such as Ride, Radiohead, Supergrass, Foals and many more.

When discussing the inspiration behind the release, the band stated,"Written back in April 2020, at a time when the world was just beginning to discover the reality of lock down, I was struggling to find inspiration and longed deeply for the rush of excitement that comes with writing new material", explains singer/songwriter/guitarist Julian Wagstaff.

"Part of my makeup is that I seem to go through periods of being fascinated with certain objects and things" - Awhile back it was flamingos which was the inspiration for The Jerichos debut single. Time to move on, enter the humble and majestic Cactus.

"A song of few words I wanted to capture the moment in time, how things were changing and the uncertainty that people were feeling. But at the same time, I wanted something upbeat, that people could dance to, remembering the good times"
