Delivering their original take on the alt-rock genre, rising trio Kopper release the brand new music video for their single ‘Luminescent Womb’, taken off of their debut EP ‘Fading Fires’.
A gothic, danced-led visual, the video was written and directed by the band’s frontman Jon Williams; making the third Kopper video Williams has directed, with bassist Ed Smith also having worked on animation for their previous work. Drawing upon contemporary dance to reflect, portray and evoke the emotions within the song; the video, which exudes a more cinematic energy, was inspired by psychologist Carl Jung’s theory of shadow.
“Releasing the track after this year of darkness, struggle and isolation feels particularly poignant”, the band explains, “While it delves into the journey of lead singer, Jon Williams as he faces and tries to address his personal failings, we have all shared in a collective reckoning with the darker sides of ourselves, and have been forced to take the time to face up to who we are, what we are and who we want to be”.
Further showcasing their experimental nature and dazzling artistry, it proves to be a very exciting time for the London three-piece.
