Singer-songwriter, author and filmmaker Melinda Joy has added another release to a busy 2026 with new single “Deadly.”

The track follows recent collaborations including “Out of the Blue” with Son of Cormack and “Too Late” with JT Martin, both of which have been submitted for Grammy consideration across several categories.

“Deadly” takes a quieter direction, combining jazz-pop and indie-folk with lyrics centred on change, endings and the cycles that shape everyday life.

Its arrangement features electric bass, drums, piano, guitar, keyboards and layered vocals, while the original melody came to Joy unexpectedly during a half-sleeping state.

Outside music, Joy holds a doctorate in psychology focused on creativity and has written two bestselling books on the subject. She also teaches meditation and hosts a podcast exploring creativity, psychology and spirituality.

Her next album is currently being developed with producer Antony Galatis at Uptown Studios.
